The Platinum Group has purchased a Promac Sharav GVT moving bridge milling centre.
“This new machine provides us with high-performance 3 and 5-axis contouring capability coupled with high accuracy”, says Platinum Group President Dan Moynahan. “It can be utilized for improved machining of composites, aluminum and steel.”
“We are always looking for ways to improve quality and turnaround time, while saving our customers money, states Moynahan. “With this machine we recently programmed a part in just over two hours, where it previously took us eight hours, so our production time is much faster and our accuracy for contouring is higher.”
Sharav GVT Features
Suitable for all machining applications involving steel, aluminium, composites and resin model board, the machine features a 32-position tool changer (with as many as 100 positions available as an option), a management system for coolant and swarf, and a double-drive gantry system for the moving bridge.
The Sharav GVT series was designed to give an extended work area an automatic head can be fitted on 2 axes for 5 axis machining.
